Privacy policy
About this policy
Brand Kit Company ("BKC", "we", "us" or "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains how we manage personal information collected through brandkitcompany.com, by email, by phone and during our business relationship with you.
We handle personal information in accordance with applicable Australian privacy requirements, including the Australian Privacy Principles where they apply to us.
Information we collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:
- your name, email address, phone number and organisation;
- project briefs, product requirements, quantities, timelines, budgets and other information you include in an enquiry;
- communications, proposals, approvals, transaction and service records created while working with you; and
- technical information such as IP address, browser or device information, access times and security events generated when you use the website.
Please do not send sensitive personal information unless it is genuinely necessary for your request and we have agreed to receive it.
How we collect information
We usually collect personal information directly from you when you submit the enquiry form, email or call us, request a proposal, or work with us. We may also receive information from an authorised colleague, referral partner, supplier or publicly available business source where it is reasonable to do so.
Our hosting and security providers automatically process limited technical information needed to deliver and protect the website. Cloudflare Turnstile also evaluates technical signals to determine whether an enquiry is submitted by a person rather than an automated system.
Why we use it
We may collect, hold, use and disclose personal information to:
- respond to enquiries and communicate with you;
- understand requirements, prepare proposals and provide requested services;
- source, produce, fulfil and deliver products where you engage us to do so;
- manage suppliers, accounts, records and our ongoing business relationship;
- maintain, secure and improve our website and prevent spam, fraud or misuse;
- meet legal, regulatory, insurance and record-keeping obligations; and
- protect our rights, users and systems.
If you do not provide the information required for an enquiry, we may not be able to respond fully or provide the requested services.
When we disclose information
We do not sell or rent personal information. We may disclose it only where reasonably necessary to:
- technology providers that support website hosting, security, email and business systems, including Microsoft Azure and Cloudflare;
- manufacturers, decorators, logistics providers and other suppliers involved in quoting or delivering requested work;
- professional advisers such as accountants, insurers or legal advisers;
- a successor or purchaser in connection with a genuine business restructure or sale; or
- government bodies, regulators, courts or other parties where required or authorised by law, or where necessary to protect safety or legal rights.
We limit disclosures to information reasonably required for the relevant purpose and expect service providers to handle it securely and confidentially.
Overseas processing
Some technology providers and product or logistics suppliers may process information outside Australia. Their locations can vary depending on the service and project and may include the United States and other countries in which Microsoft, Cloudflare or an approved project supplier operates. Where applicable, we take reasonable steps to ensure overseas recipients protect personal information consistently with applicable Australian privacy requirements.
Cookies and website measurement
We currently do not use advertising cookies or marketing analytics on this website. Essential technologies may be used by our hosting and security providers to operate the site, prevent abuse and verify enquiry submissions. Third-party websites linked from our site have their own privacy practices, which we do not control.
Storage, security and retention
Information may be held in our email, business records and systems operated by trusted service providers. We use reasonable administrative, technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect it from loss, misuse, interference and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including to provide services, maintain business and tax records, resolve disputes and comply with legal obligations. When information is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to delete it or make it anonymous, subject to backup and legal retention requirements.
Access and correction
You may ask for access to personal information we hold about you or request that inaccurate, out-of-date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading information be corrected. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. In limited circumstances permitted by law, we may refuse access or correction and will explain why where required.
Privacy complaints
If you are concerned about how we have handled your personal information, email us with enough detail to investigate. We will acknowledge your complaint within a reasonable time, investigate it fairly and aim to provide a response within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with our response and the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) applies, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our practices, services or legal obligations change. The current version will be published on this page with its effective date.
